LVBA & LV Prospects Merge
Tournament Baseball Programs
On November 18th, the Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy and Lehigh Valley Prospects agreed to merge their respective tournament baseball programs beginning the spring/summer of 2012.  The 2011 PA – Lehigh Valley Prospects was a baseball organization that was redeveloped to help serve student-athletes within Eastern Pennsylvania. The original “Prospects” were founded in 1991 by Gene Jani and Dan Waelchli for the purpose of advancing student-athletes’ education through their baseball talents which were displayed in showcase tournaments attended by collegiate coaches and professional scouts. For seventeen years, the “Prospects” assisted in securing numerous athletic and academic scholarships and grants-in-aid from various schools throughout the nation. In addition, twelve were drafted and signed with a major league organization. In 1995, Brian Schneider became the first “Prospect” to roster with a major league ball club. Montreal Expos, currently with the Philadelphia Phillies. With the passing of Coach Jani in 2004, and with the formation of other fall teams within the Lehigh Valley, the “Prospects” rounded the bases for the final time in 2007.  The 2011 PA-Lehigh Valley Prospects Baseball was formed to replicate the instructional level, the passion for the game, and the genuine caring for its student-athletes as the “Prospects” demonstrated over its years within the Lehigh Valley.   In 2011, the PA-Lehigh Valley Prospects Baseball sponsored 13U Elite, 14U Elite, 16U/18U Showcase Teams in the spring, summer and fall of 2011.  After the fall season, members of the Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy and PA-LV Prospects met to discuss the benefits of combining both tournament baseball programs.  LVBA has been sponsoring tournament teams (8U-18U) since 2008.  During that time period, the LVBA has participated in tournaments in PA, NJ, TN, FL, VA, NY, and MD.  Its 18U Elite Coaching Staff has assisted numerous members to get to the next levels; collegiately and professionally.   In 2011, LVBA  reorganized under new management with the goal of further enhancing its tournament baseball programing at all age levels.  In November, both parties came to agreement and merged under the entity of Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy Prospects.

With that stated, LVBA Prospects Baseball will offer the following to its members in 2012:
• A high level of instruction to further enhance the skill level of its participants
• Well organized and challenging practices
• Passionate, caring, knowledgeable, and experienced coaching staff
• Education and guidance with the Collegiate Recruiting Process
• Participation in showcase tournaments that attract college and professional scouts
• A team concept that will transcend life long friendships and commitments to its participants
• Quality equipment and uniform apparel
• Cost effective baseball organization

In closing, the Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy Prospects Baseball Staff is committed to its past founders’ ideals and goals as it pertains to furthering its student-athletes education through their baseball abilities, and the 2012 LVBA Prospects Staff will relentlessly strive to obtain such advancement for its members over the course of 2012 and beyond.

Sincerly,
